In writing i have been learning to use wow words i wrote about hail. I described what it looks like and feels like.

                                    

Measurement

In maths we are learning about measurement. Today we learnt about metre. First we wrote items in the class that we thought were about a metre. Next I measured with a ruler. i then worked out the difference.

in maths I hare learning about measurement. I have been learning how to estimate and measure I made a paper plane my teacher marked out a runway with a measuring tape. First I had to estimate how far my plane would go. I estimated 8 metres, it actually flew 80cm.

Using our people powers-make their day

Today we talked about how we can make people's days. During this week I will make people's days by:

• Give some one  complement
• Including people in my games
• I will say good morning and smile    

I will catch up with you next week to let you know how I got on.

Yesterday I made Mrs McGuinniety's day by doing all my work and choosing a good attitude.

Ruapuna Speedway

On Saturday afternoon, about 4 o’clock, I went to Ruapuna Speedway with Mum, my sister and my auntie.

I had a delicious steak and cheese pie when I arrived at the speedway. Then I went down to the track shop, where they have the t shirts, to have a look. I went back and sat down and enjoyed the racing. Jamie Duff almost won the N.Z. Championship. Steve Duff jr came 3rd. I talked to Alan Chapman. The best part about speedway is the sprint cars and six shooters.

They had a burnout car It was  black,and it is an old car.  It looked like the tyres had been ripped off. I don’t think it was a ford. The car came out because someone in the crowd needed help from the ambulance. First there was a paramedic then the ambulance came. Two of the helpers from the middle of the track went to help. They took him to hospital.  The races were now running late.

Luckily they didn’t cancel it, if it took any longer they would have had to stop the racing altogether. I would have been sad.

Being Responsible With Chromebooks

In Cybersmart I have been learning about being responsible with chromebooks.

First we put our prior knowledge on a Padlet. Then we buddied up and created a poster of information about being responsible with chromebooks.

I found it hard typing.

I found it easy thinking up ideas for the poster.
